Kettler, founded in 1977 by Robert Charles Kettler, is a multifamily housing developer in the US and are the largest land developer in the metropolitan Washington, DC area. Kettler owns and manages over 12,000 apartments on 45 properties and has developed more than 50,000 housing units and over of commercial space. They work with world-renowned architects and have won hundreds of awards for land planning, housing design and urban design. ==Roads and infrastructure== Kettler has built more than of divided highway in greater Washington DC. In Leesburg, Kettler is currently constructing a $30 million interchange to lighten traffic at Route 7 and River Creek Parkway. The new steel and concrete intersection, including a bridge over Route 7, will be completed in summer 2009. It will alleviate the most congested point along Route 7 and will serve a new mixed-use community at the Village of Leesburg. Kettler is also building a new bike path and sidewalk bridge. The privately funded interchange will be turned over to the City of Leesburg and the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.
